new store :: douglas designer consignment

fyi ... a new store opened today that's worth checking it out.

its called "douglas designer consignment" and its just that. beautiful designer furniture and home accessories in the douglas design district.

here it is on the northwest corner of douglas & grove (across the street from east high).

they have all consignment pieces but from the looks of it they only accept the best, in like-new condition, largely in the "new traditional" style (contemporary + traditional, my favorite). the great thing is, the prices are definitely not what you would pay for new. they have multiple rooms— which were somewhat sparsely merchandised (hey, its the first day open)— with items ranging from $30 pillows or glassware set, to a $200 pair of sconces, to tapestries and beautiful, quality furniture in the hundreds and my favorite...one absolutely gorgeous, huge china cabinet at $2,000.

great chair and desk
basically, its like shopping at a much smaller ferguson phillips or traditions and paying way less. or better yet, at an estate sale of the most beautiful well designed home.

and, if you know anything about shopping consignment/ antique, you know you have to stop by frequently, as you'll often see new stuff in each time you're there.

 fav finds: bamboo frame $65
so, ever wonder what to do with your $5,000 couch that you're ready to switch out but don't want to sell it at a garage sale for nothing? these guys want you to take it there and sell it consignment— with them.

and if i had a $5,000 couch, i would. they look like they know what they're doing. great taste.

p.s. my apologies for the flawed photos. i forgot bring my camera today but these are a few shots i snapped with my tab. i'll post better photos next time.

go forth and consign. or buy consignment. at the very least... stop by!
